At Tuesday August 17th the team in Ethiopia displayed the ‘Inspiration Ventilator’ at the “Exhibition on home-made COVID-19 Oriented Low Risk Biomedical Innovative Technologies”, in Addis Ababa. The team consists of local technical and biomedical experts, and is a local collaboration of the company Vital Engineering PLC and the NGO Dorcas Aid International. The team is pursuing local approval, production and implementation of the ventilator in Ethiopia. There is a considerable shortage of ventilators in Ethiopia, especially in remote areas.
The Exhibition in Addis Ababa was organized by the Ethiopian Standards Agency, Niras IP Consult and the German Cooperation in Ethiopia (Deutsche Zuzammenarbeit). Various teams displayed innovative technologies that can be produced locally, to improve and strengthen local healthcare.
